Today at 11:39 Station 44 was toned out for a motorcycle accident on Route 872 near the Austin Dam. Chief 44 (D.VanWhy), Chief 44-10 (C.Cooney), Chief 44-20 (M.Bacon), Chief 44-30 (J.Burgett), Chief 44-60 (C.Zenns), Chief 44-70 (N.Burgett) and 44-90 (R.Setzer) all responded. Chief 44-20 on scene and reported a BLS injury and established 872 Command.

We would like to thank everyone for their generous donations to this year’s Memorial Day Weekend Boot Drive. This was the first year that we held the event and plan on making this an annual fundraising event. In just a little over 5 hours we were able to raise $905.60 thanks to your generous donations. We are going to use the money raised towards the purchase of new equipment / Tanker. If we missed you, or you would like to make a donation you can do so by sending your donation to the address listed below. Again thank you to everyone who made a donation.

Memorial Day Parade

Today the town of Austin held a Memorial Day parade. The parade started at the Austin School and ran up 872 then up Main Street. Austin Fire and Ambulance, Boy Scouts, Methodist Church, JV cheerleaders, Junior Fire Department, Big Mike's Coffee Club, US Army 347 QMCO, VFW Post 7810 and Ladies Aux., Roulette Fire Department, Masons, Austin Police Department all were involved with the parade. We look forward to seeing all of you again next year.

Motorcycle Accident In All To Familiar Area

Tonight at 18:59 Station 44 was toned out to a motorcycle accident on Route 872 in Portage Township. Chief 44-10 (C. Cooney), Chief 44 (D. VanWhy), Chief 44-20 (M. Bacon), Chief 44-60 (C. Zenns), and Chief 44-70 (N. Burgett) all responded at time of dispatch. Rescue 44-8 and Ambulance 44-6 would respond 2 minutes later.

New EMT's!

Everybody here would like to congratulate Jocelyn Dynda and George Kurtz for successfully completing their EMT class this past week. George Kurtz is a long time member here at the Fire Department while Jocelyn is one or our newest junior members who wanted to join to help out her community and become an EMT.
 
Are You Serious, Wildfire?

Tonight at 20:15 Station 44 was toned out for a wildfire in on Route 872 in Wharton Township just below the Bailey Run Road. Chief 44 (D.VanWhy), Captain 44 (D.Clinton), and Chief 44-20 (M.Bacon) all responded at time of dispatch. 2 minutes later Patrol 44-4 with Patrol 44-14 responded followed by Engine 44-3 and Tanker 44-5.

What's For Dinner...Takeout

This evening at 18:33 Station 44 and Station 48 (Coudersport) were toned out to Wharton Township on the Big Bear Lane for an oven fire. Captain 44 (D.Clition) responded at time of dispatch followed shortly after by Engine 44-3 and Ambulance 44-6.
