This afternoon Station 44 was dispatched to a vehicle fire on Route 872 in Portage Township. Chief 44-30 (J.Burgett), Chief 44-60 (J.Moate), Chief 44-71 (S.Orlowski) and Captain 44 (R.Freer) all responded at time of dispatch. Moments later Engine 44-2, Tanker 44-5 and Rescue 44-8 would respond.

Everyone here at AVFD would like to congratulate Joe and Crystal Burgett on the birth on their son. The little boy who was born at 15:35 is named Dalton Charles and weighed 7lbs 6.2 oz and is 20 inches long. Again congratulations and welcome to the family.

This morning shortly after 08:00 Station 44 was toned out to meet an individual at the Transco building in Wharton Township to take us into the scene of a fallen hunter with unknown injuries. Chief 44-10 (C.Cooney), Chief 44-20 (M.Bacon), Chief 44-30 (J.Burgett), Chief 44-60 (J.Moate) and Chief 44-71 (S.Orlowski) all responded at time of dispatch.

Today members of Station 44 got together to run Ambulance 44-7 and Engine 44-2 through the annual Maple Festival Parade in Coudersport. Once units made it to the lineup area, they were joined by Station 10 (Galeton), Station 46 (Roulette), Station 47 (Ulysses) and Station 48 (Coudersport).

A wildfire in the Nelson Run Rd. area of Wharton Twp has burned approximately 200 acres of forestland. The blaze was spotted late Sunday afternoon from area fire towers around 1700hrs. Once the location of the blaze was pinpointed fire companies from three counties were dispatched to attempt to control the blaze. Departments responding included from Potter County; Austin Dept 44, Roulette Dept 46, Coudersport Dept 48 with Shinglehouse Dept 39 transferring an engine to cover station 46, from Cameron County; Emporium Dept 14 and Sinnamahonning Dept 16, and Dept 3 Port Allegany from McKean County. The DCNR Forestry Dept. also dispatched crews to the scene including a bulldozer and air tanker.

This afternoon at 13:51 Station 44 was dispatched to 192 Costello Avenue for a MVA with roll over, unknown injuries. Chief 44-20 (M.Bacon), Chief 44-70 (J.Moate), Chief 44-71 (S.Orlowski) and Captain 44 (R.Freer) all responded at time of dispatch.
