The Austin Vol. FIre Department, Ambulance, and Junior members  have put together a scholorship award for a student at Austin Area School that is a current Jr. Member in the AVFD. This award/scholorship is in memory of Mr. Nathan S. Setzer and Mr. Jason R. Glover who were both either family to members on the department, or really close friends to members on the department.

With the help of family, friends, and us here at AVFD we have put together a minimum award of two, two hundred and fifty dollars ($250) for two reciepiants who are current members of AVFD, and currently is running, or pursing his or her EMT classification. These indviduals will have to run calls when available just like our regular members, as well as complete twenty-five (25) addtional community service hours quarterly (Every 3 Months) outside of running emergency and non emergency calls.

Requirements for this is:

 *Must be graduating from Austin Area High School

*Must be a student in good standing (80% or higher)

*Currently pursing or has his or her EMT (Also can qualify if he or she wants to be a firefighter or sociol member)

*Must show leadership in school, and in the community that he or she lives

*Meet all community service hours

*College bound student (recommeded but NOT required)

To apply for this award/scholorship student must be entering his or her Sr. year in high school, and have a sponser from AVFD on their application
