Maple Festival Parade
Saturday, 03 May 2008

Today was the Maple Festival Parade in Coudersport. This year the parade ran a little differently due to the Route 6 detours, so line up was on Allegany Street. This would be the first time for most people to see all the new UTVS in service in Potter County. Austin (Station 44), Tri-Town (Ulysses Station 47), and Coudersport (Station48) were all on hand to run their new units all with skid units through the parade. Station 44 also ran Engine 44-3 through the parade.

BVR Practice
Tuesday, 29 April 2008

Back on March 26th Station 44 and Station 46 joined forces to do a little BVR (Basic Vehicle Rescue) practice. Station 46 had a car donated to them from Walt Miles Salvage Yard, and invited members from Station 44 to come over and demonstrate how the Junk Yard Dogs worked. Chief 44 (D.VanWhy) along with Chief 44-20 (M.Bacon), FF J. Burgett, FF F. House, and FF R. Peneguy all went in Rescue 44-8 to participate. Once "On Scene" members from our department did a quick demonstration on the "Dogs" and handed operations over to personnel from Station 46. Members from both departments took turns running the "Jaws" and performing various tasks. We would like to thank Roulette for inviting us to participate. We also look forward to working with them again not only on calls but also with training.
